November 2001Nottingham City Transport Bring a Rainbow of Colour to the City!
Nottingham City Transport have introduced a new scheme to a selection of their vehicles in an effort to make using public transport easier and more efficient.
Different routes can now be recognised by the colour coding on all sides of their vehicles; for example the routes that run in and around Beeston via Derby Road and The QMC are coded orange, whilst West Bridgford, Gamston, Ruddington and Trent Bridge are green.
The project is called 'Go2' and began being incorporated in October 2001. The project came about following customer requests and market research and 'Go2' now bring to Nottingham's public transport service, more frequent and direct routes every 5-10 minutes. The buses and route colours make it easier for passengers to recognise their chosen journey.
The majority of services provide buggy and wheelchair friendly access, and even the bus stops are colour coded to carry the continuity through. A brand new travel centre has also been opened to cater for increased customer demand and is open Monday to Saturday from 8am-7pm.
These fleet changes now mean that clients can 'pick and choose' specific geographical areas to target their advertising. This is especially good news for smaller, more local clients whose catchment area is relevant to their business.
